The Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival (KKIFF) 2012 returns once more to present a selection of some of the finest films from around the globe. Jointly organised by the Society of Performing Arts Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (SPArKS) and Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA) in collaboration with the Alliance Française, the Japan Foundation and the Goethe-Institute, KKIFF will again showcase a selection of award-winning films culled from France, Japan, Germany, Malaysia, and other countries in a whole week of celebrating the wonder of cinema.

The festival’s main component events are: the Links5 Filmmakersʼ Competition, which challenges participants to build a short film around their own interpretation of the word “links”; the Sabah Film Forum, an invitation to discuss film with a few of the great young minds who work in Asian cinema; and a Screening of Five Foreign Films, a showcase of some of the best movies that the festival has been able to find.
